ER Series, Long Radius & Multi-Pass® The Roto-Finish Combo is the designation given to a Spiratron® standard or Long Radius, or Multi-Pass® machine with an outer wrap added for a second process. In most cases, the outer channel is unlined and used for drying parts with dry finishing media, glass beads, or heated cobmeal. The Spiratron ER-Series machines provide flexible mass finishing with a high degree of automation and a high degree of process flexibility and control. The ER-Series can be designed to combine any of several mass finishing processes, including cleaning, ball burnishing, deburring, de-flashing, pre-paint finishing, pre-plate finishing, washing and rying. They can handle everything from ferrous and non-ferrous metals to plastic, wood and ceramics.
Parts are loaded into the inside channel (Channel A) for processing with ferrous or non-ferrous metal, plastic or ceramic media. After traveling around this channel for the required amount of time, the gate is raised, allowing the parts to pass over a separation screen. The media returns to Channel A and the parts transfer to the outer channel (Channel B) for drying or final polish. When the parts complete the cycle around this channel, they pass over another separation screen and are discharged from the machine. Heat can be supplied to Channel B by use of heat lamp assemblies or a hot water jacket around the bowl. Continuous improvement of products is a standard policy.
